Astros Mural
While I consider this a sort of public artwork, a commission from the Astros baseball team is kind of one-sided and could be viewed as a corporation imposing their agenda, I saw it as a chance to give an underserved area a bit of respite from their commute. Right by the 45 North Freeway, the work can be seen by cars going by there. In Houston, the Astros are revered and even though they had a bit of a dodgy 2019-2020 run, their fans are loyal til the end. This artwork was part of a campaign to "Take back" the pennant and win a second run as "world champs". The mural premise was to execute the work in less than 20 hours. The idea being that they would do a new mural for each win. This mural commemorated the team's 3rd victory and had many fans making the trek to "selfie" their passion for all things Astros.
